With summer water activities in full swing, it’s important to remember that contaminated water can sometimes spread harmful bacteria such as E. coli.
Recent public-health information from Alberta has highlighted E. coli cases associated with water-park facilities in Calgary.
Protect yourself and your family:
💧 Avoid swallowing recreational water
🧼 Wash your hands before eating
🚿 Shower after swimming
🍽️ Practice safe food handling
Know the symptoms: diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea or vomiting can occur with gastrointestinal infections.
If you become unwell or are concerned about possible exposure, speak with a healthcare professional.
